I have been thinking - What makes you happy? What makes you truly happy? Three years ago after my relationship, with my partner of over 20 years, broke down and my father passed away I did a lot of soul searching. Perusing the internet for uplifting quotes and scouring books to lift my spirits. For me to change my focus on what had happened and  to realise that all things happen for a reason. Although at the time we are hurting and there are no explanations or reasoning at all. Time heals and perspective shines.

I am a huge believer that all things happen to those who can cope with what comes their way and although we all have our own processes it is important to change focus and look at the good in your life to help you overcome the sadness that comes your way. We all experience sadness at some point which comes in waves that can pack a punch and cause deep sadness. Then comes the little uplifting moments that help you realise that the good times will always be held deep and close and eventually come to the forefront when you want them to.

I am at that point in my life now where I wake up happy everyday and get on with what comes my way. I am choosing to be HAPPY.

Take a little time to reflect where you are at this time in your life and where you would like to be. Life is short. It is important to make the most of the life you have, to access what makes you HAPPY and what your goals in life are. How are you achieving your best life?

If you choose to be happy then you are choosing to live your best life today and always. 

Little ways I choose happiness -

Give everything your all and give it a whole hearted go with all your might. Stop comparing yourself to others and compare yourself to your former self and look at where you have come and what you have achieved.

A while back I chose to take keep my distance from people who were not making me happy, which had a powerful effect on who and where I am today. It is important to surround yourself with people who uplift you and make you be the best you can be. 

Instead of focusing on what you do not have, change your focus to what you have right now and appreciate that.

It can be hard at times to choose a good attitude. Try not to dwell on the negative and focus on where you are today and all that you have achieved to be where you are right now.


Take care of you and those you love always.

Remember to never let another opinion become your reality. No one has the power to make you feel any less of yourself, unless you allow them to.

Do not sacrifice who you are to make another person happy. 

Love who you are inside and out. You are the only one who can create your OWN HAPPINESS.
