Participating and being involved in my children's primary schooling was something I loved and enjoyed immensely. I helped out on various scales as well as helping other children build their skills.

School excursions/incursions where a major highlight and over the years I attended quite a few of them, as I am sure a number of you all do as well. It can be a difficult task to work out what to wear and what may be expected of you.

Style does not have to take a back seat when choosing what to wear for an outing on or off campus with children. Comfort is key as you will most likely be on your feet most of the day with a small group of children. It also depends on what the occasion is and the location of the event.

Wear shorts or pants/jeans as you will most likely be sitting down with the children at some point. You may be required to help them with an activity and will also sit with them when they have a snack or lunch.

Take a light jacket or cardigan dress weather appropriate as it may change in an instant. Layers are best as you will be in and out of different temperatures.

Comfortable shoes are key as you may be walking around or be on your feet for a reasonable amount of time. I suggest flats or sneakers.

Take an umbrella or rain jacket as you never know when there will be a little rain.

Carry a backpack/bag
- paracetamol
- sunscreen
- anti bacterial hand wash
- wipes for the inevitable spillages
- a bottle of water
- snacks
- lunch
- a cap or hat

Most of all have fun and make memories.

Is there anything I have forgotten that you would suggest?
