Today I would like to welcome Wendy who blogs over at Beach Style Mum. Wendy also works part time as a Marketing Consultant within the property industry. Wendy has two boys whom are four and nearly 3. I found Wendy through Nikki's at Styling You #everydaystyle on instagram. I love her style.
1. Where do you reside?
Collaroy Plateau in Sydney's Northern Beaches
2. What is special about where you live?
2 minutes drive to the beach, 15 minutes drive to both sets of grandparents, cousins and friends. Being close to our family is the best. We are lucky.
3. How long have you had your business/blog/job?
I’ve been working for myself as a marketing consultant since I left my corporate job 18 months ago. I’ve been blogging as Beach Style Mum for 6 months.
4. What is your favourite childhood memory?
Spending the majority of the weekends at the beach. My dad taught me to enjoy the ocean from a young age. I used to cling to his back like a surfboard while he body surfed.
5. What are some memories that you like to create for your children?
Enjoying the outdoors is something I’d like my boys to continue to love. Going to the beach, exploring our garden, finding treasures in amongst the rock pools are all things that we love doing together.
6. Who inspires you and why?
My mum for being the most generous, selfless mother and now grandmother.
7. Describe your perfect day?
A little bit of a sleep in to start (just to 7.30 or 8am would be nice!), beach time in the morning with our boys then a long lunch with friends. I don’t think I’ve been to a long lunch for about 5 years!
8. Favourite holiday destination?
Waikiki. We went once when our first son was 15 months old and I was 25 weeks pregnant with number 2. It was fantastic so we’re planning a second trip in 2015!
9.What are some of your favourite items that you could not live without?
Top 3 would be: Olay moisturiser, slow cooker, mini ipad.
10. What is your favourite product for kids and why?
Right now, anything with spiderman on it! I wish they made spiderman branded broccoli... I do love the kids drink bottles from Kathmandu and Funky Trunks make the best chlorine resistant swimmers.
11. What is one product you have bought that you did not need but just had to have?
The navy and neon orange maxi dress I bought on the weekend. Was meant to be shopping for much needed workwear but had to have it. I’ll feature it on my blog soon.
12. Your favourite children’s fashion label?
Cotton On, Country Road (particularly during a sale) and Target. And I’m a fan of crocs for their feet for the beach, on wet days, to swimming lessons. They are the best.
13. What is your family’s favourite meal?
We like to go out for special breakfasts sometimes – we all love bacon, eggs, milkshakes and pancakes. Especially when made and cleaned up by someone other than me!
14. What is your go to mummy uniform?
In warm weather – shorts, T-shirt and sandals/thongs. In cooler weather – jeans, long sleeved T, jumper, scarf, converse. My boys are young and active so mummy time is usually pants or shorts.
15. What is the best thing about being a mother?
The love and affection from my kids (the cuddles I get from mister 2.5 are regular and amazing). Watching them learn new things and start to become people I’m so proud of is the best ever.
16. Favourite place to shop? What are you loving right now?
For everything from shorts to workwear, I love a visit to Country Road or Myer for all the brands under one roof (and the amazing sales). I like online stores like Birdsnest for their range and ease of buying and/or returning. I’ll also admit to buying a couple of $2 tops and $4 dresses from Mix Apparel recently. Cheaper than coffee!
17.To finish off would you like to add a favourite photo? Tell us why it is your favourite.
