The weather is warming up and it is time to get those feet out of hibernation. Why not give yourself a pedicure at home while the weather is a mish mash of cold and warm days. Here are some pointers to the perfect pedi -
Soak your feet in warm water for around 10 minutes, you can add a drop of your favourite essential oil to soothe the feet. This will help soften all the dead skin. Dry off your feet and use a loofah or pumice stone to remove the dead skin, concentrating on the heels and where you have dry rough skin. Smooth away the dead skin with a towel and moisturise with a thick heel conditioner to restore smoothness. If your heels need a little extra then apply socks to help absorb the moisture.
Cut your nails using nail scissors or clippers cut your nails straight across leaving a little nail at the tip. Shape and smooth with an emery board and shape.
Push back your cuticles using the flat surface of an orange stick, to help remove the cuticle add a little cuticle remover. Clean any excess cuticle off with nail polish remover for clean smooth nails.
Polish apply a base coat (this will help to prevent discoloured nails). Start in the middle then move to each side. Add a coat of your preferred colour and let dry. Apply another coat of colour and once dry add a little shine with a clear topcoat.
