tiny changes for HEALTH, WEALTH + HAPPINESS

Change doesn’t need to be dramatic or all-encompassing. Small, individual changes can lead to new habits, and – eventually – to a much-improved life. They might seem insignificant on their own, but they build up to a powerful force, just like raindrops working away at rocks. If you made just one change every day, you’d be doing them all in a month’s time. How different could your life look in
a year?

Health
Swap one of your daily coffees for a glass of water.
Park further from work, and walk the last five minutes.
Eat a piece of fruit with lunch, every day.
Brush your teeth for two minutes twice a day.
Use less salt when you cook .
Go to bed half an hour earlier and aim for eight hours’ sleep.
Cut back on alcohol by drinking a low alcohol version.
Get outside during your lunch hour for a twenty minute walk.

Wealth
Set up an automated transfer to move $10 per week into savings.
Avoid the shops during your lunch hour, or change your route home from work.
Take out a magazine subscription to save.
Take a thermos of coffee to work.
Buy books second-hand, instead of buying new.

Buy food in bulk, and cook batches to freeze.
Try generic, instead of branded products.
Pack your lunch for work instead of buying sandwiches out.
Use cash when shopping – and only take as much cash as you need.

Happiness
Keep your desk tidy.
Try not to read emails after dinner.
Spend five minutes in a quiet thought every morning.
Write a list of things that you are thankful for at the end o each day.
Make time to really listen when you are being spoken to.
Say NO to commitments you do not want to take on.
Read for half an hour.
Send a message to a friend via email or Facebook to let them know you are thinking of them.
Take a shower or a walk if you start feeling stressed.
Do something kind for another person.
