10 tips for A FAKE TAN

It is time to start applying your fake tan. As the season warms up and we shed our longer pants to bare our legs, most of is like to add a little sun kissed glow with a fake tan. I have not bared my legs as yet but it will not be long. To me the best time to apply fake tan is after a shower and you have followed all the following steps for an even coverage with out looking orange. I have seen a few people with an orange glow around town.

1. Prepare
Exfoliate to remove dead skin cells and smooth skin with a loofah and exfoliating scrub for an even tan application. Us an oil free exfoliator as oil can act as a barrier and the tan may not stick and leave you with an uneven application. Moisturise all over, especially the rough areas like elbows, knees, ankles and wrists.

2. Shaving time
If you need to shave, do so the day before applying the tan. Your skin will be less likely to be sensitive or react to the fake tan. Also do not shave once the tan has bee applied as you will erase the some of the colour.

3. Apply the tan
Do the larger areas of your body first: your stomach arms and legs. Then focus on the ankles, elbows, knees and neck. Always apply a little less to these areas as they tend to tan darker. If the tan is looking a little darker in these areas wipe off with a towel. Wipe hands with a baby wipe or wash straight away with warm soapy water to remove from inside of hands.

4. Face
If you are tanning your face use a facial tan with less harsh ingredients. Or you could just use a bronzing powder to give a natural glow.

5. Apply moisturiser
To keep your faux tan even and looking great keep hydrated and apply moisturiser daily.

# use spray tan in the shower as you can rinse down afterwards.
